 NEW Position: Network Systems Engineer
 Education/Background:

5+ years of experience in military network systems and wireless networked systems.  Experience with applying systems engineering life-cycle concepts and approaches.  BS degree

 Experience:

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

1. Experience working with clients or organizations within the Navy, other military branches, or DoD branches at a technical level.

2. Ability to understand technical, managerial, and policy issues and to evaluate wireless technology, including LMR, WLAN, WiMAX, 2.5/3/4G networks, and RFID in order to bridge the gap between the technical and business functions.

3. Knowledge of satellite communications fundamentals and architectures a plus.

4. Knowledge of radio frequency spectrum regulations from the NTIA and FCC a plus.

5. BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Systems Engineering.

6. Knowledge of UAV wireless and C4ISR systems a strong plus.

 Location: Patuxent River NAS, MD

 Travel: Approximately 5 days a month
 Description:

Position Key Functions:  Serve as Network Systems Engineer for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Program Office responsible for making assessments and input into team products and processes in the context of the Unmanned Air System (UAS), Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV), and Ground Control System (GCS). He/She will provide services to the Program Office including, but not limited to:

1. Providing timely and technically sound engineering support to the Program Class Desk and/or Communications Systems Team Lead as appropriate.

2. Provide technical expertise in the areas of Communication Systems including SATCOM Systems, Networks, and Datalink systems.

3. Support preparation of program acquisition and technical documents and briefings, as required.

4. Managing and coordinating appropriate engineering development, requirement adherence and technical issue resolution for the assigned engineering functional area above.

5. Providing timely and technically sound input to the Communications Systems Team Lead for the overall program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

6. Participating in Program-level Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and Communications Systems Team meetings in coordination with the APMSE, Mission Systems Team Lead and Prime contractor representatives, as appropriate.

7. Providing the Mission Control and Communications Systems Team Leads with weekly engineering reports/updates via e-mail, as required.

8. Assessing, quantifying and identifying technical risk, and develop risk mitigation options.

9. Supporting Risk Management Reviews.

10. Reviewing and providing comments on Mission Systems assigned CDRL items.

 Education/Background: BS in EET/CEPT/CPT/CS or equivalent experience (MS preferred)
 Experience: 1 year (military experience a plus but not required)
 Location: Patuxent River NAS, MD
 Salary: Competitive - Relative to experience
 Travel: Limited - Approx 1-2 days a month
 Description: C++ expert needed to support Naval Testing and Evaluation.  Security clearance will be required but not necessary at time of employment.
